A lightweight, compact self-braking descent device for rope access and rope rescue, designed for semi-static ropes from 10-11mm thick. The anti-panic function in the lever re-locks the cam if the handle is pulled too far to avoid a dangerous descent speed. The body and lever are made of strong hot-forged aluminum alloy. Mechanical parts are made of high-precision stainless steel. The internal mechanism and locking cam use an innovative design for a smooth action on the rope, which prevents rapid wear and absorbs energy from small shocks with little rope slippage. The rope interaction format allows the Druid to work well when climbing a rope. The cam can be deactivated with a trigger to allow rapid rope slippage in no-load or limited-load situations.
